Anything can happen live

In my Marketing class at Northwestern, we focused on statistical and analytical supported creative campaigns.
For our final project we were placed into groups and required to pitch for the maiden voyage of the then unnamed
streaming service for NBC Universal. Not only was I tasked with research and strategic responsibilities, but also to
create a “hype video” to properly capture the energy of our idea. This was the end result; a compilation that
built on familiar assets and helped our audience get as excited as we were for “Anything Can Happen Live”

All assets used in this video are not owned by me and are used here for educational purposes.

Theories for shows

When “Voltron: Legendary Defender,” a Netflix animated series, came to an end in December 2018
there was a great deal of fan speculation on what was going to happen in the final 13 episodes.
My friend Jillian Lynn and I decided last minute to document our excitement and expectations in a fun
and creativeway that allowed us to explore something outside of streaming or podcast recording.
Despite a limited time frame of only 2 days, we decided to create a simplified “animated” video in the
style of the show.

Jillian and I split producer roles on this specific project, which was both scripted and unscripted.
I was responsible for pre-production, research and development areas while Jillian took on post.
My role included: researching similarly styled videos on YouTube, building all visual assets including
over 40 character variations, backgrounds, pop-ups and making a list of all show assets to reference.
Additionally I wrote intros, outros and specific notes we were aiming to hit throughout the video.

Paint By Mountains

Can you make watching paint dry interesting? I decided to play with the concept by recording one of
my watercolor sessions and attempted to capture the feeling of joy and passion felt while painting.

COSPLAY BRANDING

I was hired by a popular youtuber who specialized in cosplay to build a presentation
about the basic design utilized in creating a personal brand. Cosplay, the art of dressing up as
and embodying pop culture characters, has started gaining headway in popular culture and is used
by entertainment companies to promote products. Thus, the main goal of this deck was to explain
self-branding and online presence for those looking to turn their hobby into a career.

This deck was used in presentations at several large scale conventions where
the youtuber was a guest speaker. The ask was the be as informative as possible
while still making the visuals fun and engaging for convention attendees.
The youtuber specifically asked for my personal voice and style
to shine through, which made the project fun and unique.
